Sinking Ship?

After starting the season 6-0 behind blowout wins, the Sharks have dropped their last four.  They will look to rebound this weekend when they face the 3-7 Tornado, who are also on a four game skid.

In the last month, the Sharks have seen their high powered offense that produced a league high 147 points per game in the first six games disappear and be replaced with an offense that is averaging just 109 points per game.  During these same four weeks, Manning has averaged a meager 14 points per game and had a bye week.  In the previous six weeks, all victories, Manning averaged 27 points per game.

Manning’s production valley hasn’t been the only problem.  All-Pro tight end Antonio Gates has been nursing injuries to both of his feet, which could be nagging for the rest of the season, and Austin Collie, a surprise receiver early in the season, has missed time with a hand injury and a concussion.

The Sharks are now sitting in a tie with the Chickens for second place in the T.L.A. Division behind the Badgers.  If they are going to right the ship, they need to start by beating the Tornado this weekend.  A loss this weekend could put a nail in the coffin.
