Watch Mike Vick rack up the most single game points of the 2010 DFL season. It will be hard not to have his name in the MVP mix if he continues at this pace.
Peyton Manning will look to get his 6-4 Sharks back on track with a victory over the 3-7 Tornado this weekend.
Mike Vick was electric on Monday night, posting the highest single game numbers of the 2010 season. Can Vick make a late run at the 2010 DFL MVP award?
Mike Vick has the Roughnecks on a three game winning streak. Can he secure the club's first playoff berth?
Without a heroic effort by Peyton Hillis in week 9, the Chickens would be sitting at 4-5 and riding 3 game losing streak.
Tulsa Ruckus 125 – Porter Blitz 106
Kickin’ Chickens 118 – Cleveland Warriors 110
Fort Worth Badgers 163 – Springtown Sharks 145
The Pats 146 – Jennings Outlaws 119
Tulsa Shock 174 – Texas Bandits 137
After starting the season 6-0 behind blowout wins, the Sharks have dropped their last four. They will look to rebound this weekend when they face the 3-7 Tornado, who are also on a four game skid.
In the last month, the Sharks have seen their high powered offense that produced a league high 147 points per game in the first six games disappear and be replaced with an offense that is averaging just 109 points per game. During these same four weeks, Manning has averaged a meager 14 points per game and had a bye week. In the previous six weeks, all victories, Manning averaged 27 points per game.
Manning’s production valley hasn’t been the only problem. All-Pro tight end Antonio Gates has been nursing injuries to both of his feet, which could be nagging for the rest of the season, and Austin Collie, a surprise receiver early in the season, has missed time with a hand injury and a concussion.
The Sharks are now sitting in a tie with the Chickens for second place in the T.L.A. Division behind the Badgers. If they are going to right the ship, they need to start by beating the Tornado this weekend. A loss this weekend could put a nail in the coffin.
Roughnecks quarterback Mike Vick posted 62 fantasy points on Monday night and almost single-handedly outscored the Pats, as the Roughnecks moved to 5-5 and are on a three game winning streak after a 120 – 87 win in week 10.
Vick put on a performance that will be hard for any other quarterback in the league to beat, throwing four touchdown passes and rushing for two more. Vick also had 333 yards passing and 80 yards rushing. If Vick continues to play at this level over the next month, his name could be in the running for 2010 DFL MVP, and the Roughnecks might see themselves playing in the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.
Roughnecks owner Joel staley announced Tuesday that Vick will be the starter for the rest of the season, while Matt Cassel will be the backup. The Roughnecks (5-5) are in a tie with the Outlaws for second place in the Oklahoma Division, and will play the first place Tulsa Ruckus (6-4) in week 11. Both teams are riding three game winning streaks, and with a Roughnecks win, the week 11 matchup could make things interesting down the stretch.
